Michael Taylor Filmmaker Scholarship

The Michael Taylor Scholarship is named in honor of Michael Taylor, a proud alumnus who graduated in 2008. Michael’s journey began at San Diego City College where he earned an Associates in Anthropology and a Certificate in Archaeology. Following his time at City College, he continued his studies at Columbia University in New York City, while obtaining a degree in Anthropology. Michael’s post graduate accomplishments are truly noteworthy, as he has gone one to become a three-time Emmy Award-winning television producer and founder of NWM Imaging, a respected film production company specializing in documentaries and docuseries. Michael also generously supports the community by producing three programs for San Diego’s local public television, KPBS. In recognition of his commitment to education and the arts, he graciously provides two $250.00 scholarships to aspiring film production students at San Diego City College, fostering future storytellers.
