James P. Dowd Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was created by Dr. Bonnie Ann Dowd, San Diego Community College District Executive Vice Chancellor of Business and Technology Services. This opportunity is in memory of her brother James “Jimmy” P. Dowd, who was killed in 1977 in an accident at the age of 20 while serving in the U.S. Air Force. Jimmy attended Pace University in New York City when he graduated from high school. After one year, he made the decision to join the Air Force with the intent of pursuing a degree in business after completing his service.
